Benefits of Jasmine Essential Oil

Jasmine oil is derived from the white flowers of the jasmine plant. Jasmine is popular for its sweet fragrance and the oil is commonly used in perfumes, alcohol, and desserts.


Jasmine essential oil has a number of health benefits.

It has antidepressant qualities--it and causes you to feel more alert.

It also affects the nervous system and leaves you feeling more positive, energetic, and romantic. It has antiseptic and antispasmodic properties, aids in the swift healing of small wounds, and helps decrease the symptoms of menopause.

In some cases, jasmine oil can have a sedative effect--it can help improve insomnia and irritability.


The scent of jasmine has been used as an aphrodisiac for centuries. There is no scientific evidence to support this, but it is true that it improves mood and raises positive feelings and energy levels. Also, its stimulant effect on brain waves may make people more aware of romantic overtures.


Jasmine oil is generally considered to be safe and non-irritating. However if you are pregnant, nursing, or have a history of severe allergic reactions, you should consult with a doctor before using this or other essential oils.
