How did you celebrate international day of happiness??

International Day of Happiness

March 20th is the International Day of Happiness! Celebrate today by doing something that makes you truly happy.

I am one of the lucky ones who feels incredibly happy to go to work every morning. The job of a Massage Therapist has some incredible features—I get to meet lots of different people and talk with them about their families, travel, health, life experiences, or whatever strikes our fancy. Sometimes I soothe their skin and muscles, and sometimes I help them reach a quiet mental space. Regardless of what a client needs when they come to me, I get to help them and make their day better. And massage work goes both ways—I feel relaxed and peaceful just as my clients do.

Massage truly is an exchange of happiness. Almost everyone who leaves after a session is happy, grateful, relaxed, and ready to face the day. As for myself, I feel accomplished, calm, and full of positive energy. During massage is when I meditate; it is how I keep my focus and maintain my slow, deliberate movements to best ease my client's pain. I get to learn something new every day. Sometimes it's about my client, sometimes they give me an opportunity to reflect on my own life, sometimes it is an intellectual exchange, and sometimes I get a chance to better my massage skills and work out a client's problem using all the modalities and techniques I have learned. There is hardly a better feeling than when someone comes to you with a problem, and you get to use your training and skills to make them feel better. And the more I learn, the more problems I will be equipped to deal with in the future.

Massage makes me happy. What makes you happy?

Have a joyful International Day of Happiness!
