We are back

Dear valued clients,
Please read the blog post in its entirety before booking as important information about new regulations are here
I am happy to announce that Massage therapy businesses have been confirmed ready to receive clients again as early as June 19th.
Nordic House Spa has decided to do a soft opening on July 1st. I am waiting the additional two weeks mostly to self-quarantine for your safety, but also to prepare for procedures to meet additional guidelines and regulations set forth by the CDC and the California Department of Public Health. Thank you for being patient with me for another few weeks.
We will start with a soft opening for at least a month. During this time, I unfortunately will not see cancer patients still in treatment or in recent recovery. If you are not sure if you fall in these categories, please give me a call at 530 615 9801.
Here is how we will be operating from July 1st :
Our regular business hours are;
Monday - Saturday 10am- 6pm
Tuesday – Wednesday – Friday 2pm -7pm
Thursday and Sunday closed
After you book, before the appointment
When you book online or by calling/emailing, we will contact you the day before your appointment to ask a few questions regarding your recent health. We do this for the sake of other clients and the health of my family as my business is located at home.
If you feel sick the morning of your appointment, please call and cancel- we will no longer charge cancellation fees and we trust our clients not to abuse this courtesy. If you cancel, we will put a note in your file and you will not be able to book with us for 2 weeks as a way to ensure other clients are not exposed. If you book online with us within these 2 weeks we will automatically cancel the appointment. After 2 weeks you will be able to book again.
Please respect additional measures as Nordic House Spa clientele mostly consists of cancer patients and cancer survivors, and we have their best health in our interest.
On the day of your appointment
I will greet you outside to take your temperature with a touchless thermometer. If it is above regulation we will unfortunately have to cancel the appointment and rebook you minimum 2 weeks out.
Please wear a face mask upon arriving.
Both Therapist and client are REQUIRED to wear face mask throughout the session even when facedown. We understand that this can feel claustrophobic and if that is the case, we can perform your back massage in a side-lying position avoiding the face cradle.
For every visit, you will have to sign a Return Client Form stating no new health concerns has occurred since last visit and that you understand that receiving massage could expose you to covid-19. I do my best to ensure your safety, but this virus is still being researched and new discoveries are made daily, therefore I cannot guarantee 100% that you won’t get it from here.
You will also be asked to wash your hands in the treatment room or bathroom before the session can start. I will make sure CDC approved hand washing protocols are visible for you to follow.
Our procedure to prevent cross contamination
I check all clients upon arrival, and myself and my family every morning with a touchless thermometer.
I wear face mask and a face shield for your protection.
I am limiting my clients to at most three per day, and when I book up I will block the rest of the day off.
I have allowed for 1 hour between clients to thoroughly sanitize massage table, face cradle, bolsters, and all surfaces that might have been touched including but not limited to door handles, sinks, and front desk with US EPA approved products.
I have also invested in a UVC-germicidal light to run between clients. When run undisturbed for at least 15 minutes, UVC light inactivates virus, making it impossible for the virus to replicate. It is dangerous for human cell to be exposed to this light for longer periods of time, which is one of the reasons I am allowing extra time between clients.
All sheets, towels and blankets are changed between clients and is washed and dried according to the California Department of Public Health guideline every day.
I use one pen per client when signing in and out, and sanitize the payment device and stainless steel containers for lotion between each client.
I hope you understand and follow these new guidelines for the safety of yourself, my family and other clients. Again, our clientele is mostly immune compromised such as cancer patients and lymphedema patient who are more prone to infections.
California law allows me to refuse service to anyone who is not compliant with the regulation or for any other reason. While I try my best to accommodate everyone, I must regretfully refuse service if safety of other clients and my family may be at risk. If you have any questions, please contact me.
I am looking forward to opening up and seeing all my regular and some new faces. I can’t wait to help everyone achieve there wellness goals!
Kindly Miechelle Juul Hwang CMT/CLT
